Often I heard people correlate time of waking up and the level of hard work they have. Is it true that people who wake up earlier will be more hardworking? Well, I just wanna clarify that waking up earlier is not the same as not sleeping at all! (this is directed to university inhabitants-the lives who are unable to distinguish day and night, and often screwed those two up-side-down). Having sufficient sleep (12-6) could be a rewarding to our health (forget about the time, I just cite a bad example). Anyway, what I'd like to point out here is that :
The optimal time for activity
A normal office day starts at 8 and ends at 5. So, if one could wake up earlier than that, one would expect to have ample time to prepare for the day. It's a bad idea to wake up just on time to go to work, and hence an hour or two helps one to do some chores or routines like newspaper reading, good breakfast, etc. However, in the metropolises, there's a saying that people wakes up before the rooster does. Life there is so demanding that a person having more than 5 hours of sleep is considered luxury. In a long term, I could not help but wonder if that harms the health of its denizens. Life's tough, life without health is... fatal. Life without money is... same, fatal. It's a double edge situation.
I love to perceive things before I realize how it works. And the last time I went to the local airport (Alor Star-Malaysia), I remembered what I saw, or rather, what I didn't see. It was 7am. My friends and I went to the airport to check in our luggage. Plane departs at 8.45am, so we have some breaks and we took our time travelling to the nearest shops in town for breakfast. Sadly, we could hardly find a place to eat! In my hometown, it is not unusual to find the cafes starting their business around 6. The wet market is crowded by 6. Oddly, if working time starts at 8am, then how can it be that the cafes around Alor Star is not opening by 7.30am? Unless they do not take breakfast, it could mean that there's some 'culture' that the people around are not accustomed to early business.
Well, in the university, 8am class is bad, terrible, suicidal. It is said that the class is a sleeping one, and a torturing one when meeting a demanding lecturer. I guess that had something to do with the culture here. Over here, most do not sleep before 12. If you just happened to sleep before that time, it's good and it's rare. Congrats yourself for being able to do so. That's why, a bad sleeping habit paired with terrible food (save it to next story) will produce...
Junk health.
