"I don't listen to the radio, I don't listen to the mainstreams because they're just so plain. I listen to Rock, Metal. Most people don't like it, but that doesn't belittle these musics. I love what I love and I don't care what others think." - David
I was taking a flight from KL to Penang. On my way, I saw sitting beside my seat was a young lady. Her companion asked if I could change seat with him. I agreed happily. They looked like close.
Then I moved forward to the new seat. A fair guy sat next to me. We chatted.
And I just realized the plane landed before our conversation could end.
David's the name. English-French origin. Chatted about music.
He let me see his living room of musics. Rock, metal genre are always perceived by me as some crooked birds screaming on the mic. He played a selected song, asked me to ignore the singing, and I was stunned.
I love the beat.
Songs normally don't go beyond 4 minutes, but that doesn't mean good ones must stick to that frame. In fact, that's just for the mainstreams. I love the way music tickles my ears, like scratching the left then right then give the left side a soft blow. It's just plain enjoyment. Then he scribbled (yeah, his handwritings is like the doc) a list of his favorite artists and songs. Asked me to mail him what I think after listening to the songs. I can say here, I enjoy the mood! And he graduated in music, as he also wrote down a few names of the classical masters like chopin, bach, mozart and etc, asked me to go for them.
I was enjoying the flight, obviously.
Note: Steve Reich! This guy's marvelous! His music is just like copy-pasting pieces of repeating musics together, but they sound fantastic!
