I don't know what I don't know.
There is always blind spot on our thinking. And often times, this blind spot is not easily spotted.
Like there's a road you always drove to reach your house. Behind the road are two rows of terrace house, single storey, until the end of the junction. Every day you pass it by, maybe sneaking a glance or two on the structure and design of the houses. You probably notice the gates, only one of the houses has wooden gate. Or you saw the cars park around the estate, there was only one BMW parked next to the house with the green gate. Maybe sometimes you saw a few residents coming out of their hives.
One day you went to a graduation party. You saw the girl you admired since first day in school. The one normal looking yet who have a irresistible charming smile. You recalled all these while during your school days, you purposely came earlier and left late just to watch her around until she mounted the school bus. And thank God you had a great time talking with her, and she looked happy with you. And when the time came, you offered to send her back. She gladly accepted your kindness. And then
You reached in front of her house. The one with the wooden gate.
You were stunned.
(wait for 2 seconds)
Then you asked her, is this your house? Yeah, I've been here since I was born. She replied. You knocked your head so hard that your brain knocks on your brain's brain (brainception!) You were asking yourself, why didn't you see her around before?!
This, is what i mean, you don't know what you don't know. You don't know she is there. You don't even know she is possibly there. There are things in life which you know but you are unsure, things like probability. If you ask yourself, will it rain? The answer is either yes or no. You know the answer, just that you don't know which is the answer. But if something you don't know it is even there, how on Earth could you predict it?
That's why most people think they know what they don't know. They thought they can guess what would happen later, what would happen tomorrow, what would happen next year. In fact, only God knows. We can guess, but the thing that sometimes happen, is the one which we don't know could happen! And sadly/luckily, the thing which we didn't expect could change our lives. Tell me, how many of us or people around us can accurately predict what job we will take up in our lives? Often time, we ended up doing things which we didn't even foresee ourselves doing.
So, accepts the fact that sometimes we don't know things. Just keep life moving on, because sometimes with the pleasant unexpected happenings, our lives can actually turn around to something far better than what we could have wanted.
Stay strong, stay blessed, and good luck (:
